Pets on Wheels of Connecticut 's mission is to improve the lives of people and pets through the healing qualities of the human/animal bond by supporting the adoption and ownership of homeless dogs and cats.

Description:
We utilize a referral network of social workers, physicians, and faith based organizations outreach programs. They refer their clients who would benefit from having their own cat or dog however without outside assistance they are not able to have their own pet. We provide the outside assistance which can range from paying the annual vet. check up, providing food, heart worm medication, pre-authorized sick visits. The dogs & cats are adopted from local rescue shelters.

History:
Pets on Wheels of Connecticut was founded in October of 2008. Our website went live in October of 2009. We then started building our referral network of professionals and raising money to enable placements. We started placing cats and/or dogs in 2010.
