Description:
Since 1998, Sunrise Northeast, Inc has been providing a number of services and programs to people with disabilities. These include community living arrangements (group homes), day training programs, supported employment, and in-home supports. Currently, Sunrise Northeast, Inc operates 22 community living arrangements and 3 day programs located in Coventry, Hartford, and soon to be Vernon. One of our day training programs is Everlasting Design, which is an art and craft consignment shop where local artists and our participants sell their artwork.

Volunteers are needed to help with home improvement type projects like tending flowerbeds, planting memorial gardens, painting themed rooms in our day programs, or throwing a pizza party for the residents of a home.

History:
Sunrise Northeast, Inc started in 1998 with the closing of the Mansfield Training Center. At that time, our CEO, Leslie Leech, Jr. was asked to expand the Sunrise Florida operations into CT. When the Mansfield Training Center closed, a few of the people who lived there were moved into a Sunrise Northeast group home. From then, Sunrise Community, Inc’s CT operations have spread to all four regions of the state, employing roughly 300 people, and serving over 100 clients.
