Outreach Volunteer - help us serve more immigrants across the state!

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on September 26, 2012

The Immigration Project offers invaluable immigration law resources to over 80 counties in Central and Southern Illinois. We are the only not-for-profit legal services agency south of I-80! We want someone to work on outreach to the rural community 'hubs' around the state - making new contacts so we can advertise our nearly-free (only $10) services for citizenship applicants. We also want this volunteer to develop relationship with key community "movers and shakers" to build an infrastructure in their community - of volunteers to help immigrants complete necessary pre-paperwork for the process, and to host Citizenship Information Meetings in their communities - most likely through Skype.

Skill with people. Patience. Listener. Good with recording and managing details of contacts by community/region. Willing to become familiar with MailChimp and maintain email list. No foreign language necessary. Willing to work in a small team of 2-3 to accomplish the goals of the Citizenship Department. Website development a plus. Media/graphics a plus.
