Description:
Children's Home + Aid implements programs designed to help children and families overcome overwhelming obstacles such as poverty, abuse and neglect. Through early intervention and prevention programs, at-risk children are provided with nurturing and caring environments in which to live, learn and grow. Youth who have endured extreme hardships receive the education and life skills training necessary to lead productive lives. Families are strengthened through education and support services to help parents provide for their children's basic needs.

History:
Children's Home + Aid was founded in 1883 by Reverend Martin Van Buren Van Arsdale who dedicated himself to finding homes for orphaned and abandoned children. Today, Children's Home + Aid continues his legacy and serves more than 40,000 children and families through direct services.

Dedicated staff and volunteers, provide comprehensive programs to help children and families overcome overwhelming obstacles such as poverty, abuse, and neglect. Children's Home + Aid is a compassionate advocate for the welfare of children and families and is recognized as a leader in providing quality services. Children's Home + Aid provides more than 70 social service program focusing on child development, child abuse prevention and strengthening families.

Children's Home + Aid has regional offices throughout the state of Illinois: Evanston, Palatine, Granite City, Rockford, and Bloomington. Our statewide administrative office is located in Chicago.
