The Community Outreach Program teaches, connects and empowers underserved residents throughout the Arlington community. We envision a self-sufficient, welcoming, and culturally-inclusive community. We are a multicultural program promoting self-sufficiency and community belonging through neighborhood educational programs and services for newly arrived and low-income Arlington County residents.
The Community Outreach Program outreach specialists are located in community centers and apartment complexes around the county. Through a variety of programs, outreach specialists provide residents of Arlington with a wealth of information about services that are available to them through Arlington County Department of Human Services and other Arlington County agencies and nonprofit organizations. We also provide opportunities for residents to attend various community events, "ask an expert" workshops, free English and citizenship classes, as well as computer access and training.
