About United Way of South Mississippi Volunteer Center

We are a volunteer center internal to the United Way of South Mississippi. Our Volunteer Center is a partner volunteer center under the state organization, Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service (MCVS) and a Hands On affiliate.

 

We serve our community by recruiting and referring volunteers to member organizations on a daily basis. We also provide training for local non-profit agencies and business that have volunteer programs. In addition we offer many special events and days of service throughout the year to address community needs.

 

We are also a member agency of the South Mississippi Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (SM-VOAD). When disaster strikes our area we work with local emergency management, local partner agencies and MCVS to open and staff a Volunteer Response Center in the lower six counties of Mississippi.
