Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare organizes Mega Adoption Events throughout San Antonio and beyond. Multiple rescue groups and shelters participate at these events and Experienced dog handlers are always needed to help walk dogs at these events and help promote them to potential adopters.

Other outgoing, people-oriented volunteers are needed to help man the AAPAW booth to provide information and resources to the public.

Other volunteers can help refill water bowls in crates, mist dogs during hot weather, serve as runners between rescue groups and AAPAW staff or venue host.

Minimum age is 18 to walk dogs. Dog-walkers must have the confidence to walk dogs from shelters who may have only had minimum leash-training and be able to maintain control over the dogs at all times. They must be aware of proper dog to dog introductions and contacts to avoid potential confrontations between dogs.
