National Multiple Sclerosis Society
| Last updated on October 4, 2012 |
The National MS Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. MS stops people from moving. We exist to make sure it doesn't.
Description:
The National MS Society helps each person address the challenges of living with MS. The Society helps people affected by MS by funding cutting-edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. Since its inception in 1946, the National MS Society invested more than $610 million in research. We are a movement by and for people with MS, moving together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis.
History:
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society was founded as a grassroots effort in 1946 to raise awareness of the disease, provide services and programs to people affected by MS and to fund research in an effort to find a cure for the devastating effects of MS.
