Chicora Elementary Lunch Buddy Mentoring Program

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The Chicora Elementary Lunch Buddy Program is a school based mentoring program that operates Monday-Friday, designed to fit mentors' availability. Mentors select the days and times they wish to participate and are paired with a student that eats lunch during those times. In addition to availability, mentors are paired based on gender, interests and personality of both mentor and the student. Mentors meet with their lunch buddy each week, building a one-on-one relationship while providing a positive role model for their buddy. Mentors will be contacted on days when their lunch buddy is absent or does not have school. Mentors also receive the monthly Lunch Buddy Newsletter.

Requirements include: an application and a brief orientation/training. A background check is conducted as part of the application process.
