Aurora Gonzalez Community and Family Resource Center is committed to enhancing family function by providing education, recreation and social programs for residents of the “old South Toledo” area. All programs offered shall be designed to help all family members develop to their fullest potential and increase their utilization of community resources.

Description:
We are a neighborhood based family resource center serving the 43609 area. We have numerous programs and services through community partnerships. Our services are offered free of charge and are focused on assisting all families to achieve stability and self-sufficiency.

Through our core values of compassion and hospitality, we walk in solidarity as companions with those who seek our assistance. We are committed to engaging community partners and neighborhood residents to seek meaningful solutions to problems facing families.

History:
The origins of our agency date back to the early 1970s when a neighborhood center was formed to focus on the educational needs of the Latino community. The Aurora Gonzalez Center opened in 1997 in honor of a dedicated Latina activist who passed away in a tragic accident. Over the years, the Center has evolved with various programs and now is focused on serving all families living in the Old South End. We still have a significant service to the Latino community through translation and immigration assistance as well as other programs. At the same time. we embrace all of South Toledo with its rich cultural diversity.
