We operate in non-hierarchical, management distributed teams. Our internships provide excellent on-the-job training while working in a unique open office environment filled with plants, natural light, and opportunities for getting involved in all our work. The Volunteer Coordinator Intern will provide integral support to Pachamama Alliance's Volunteer program and Fall Fundraising event by learning techniques of online recruiting, acknowledging past volunteers, and scheduling volunteers for our November 2 Rainforest Luncheon event. This training will help prepare you for program coordination, event production, and project or volunteer management in your career. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the work within an organization dedicated to environmental sustainability, social equity and spiritual fulfillment. o Hours and Location
o 15-20 hours per week
o 2- 5 days per week working in the Pachamama Alliance office, located in the beautiful San Francisco Presidio
o Duration: September 5 – December 1, 2017
o Start date: As soon as possible
o This is an unpaid internship and works directly with the Volunteer and Intern Program Manager
o Transportation stipend available for qualified commutes.

Responsibilities: In this position you will:
o Learn The Pachamama Alliance’s story, mission and current activities so that you can interact with volunteer’s questions effectively
o Call prior volunteers to thank them for their participation
o Learn where and how to post this year’s opportunities at online websites
o Respond to calls and emails to schedule volunteers for the November 2 event and associated activities
o On the day of the event, greet volunteers and document their participation with accurate contact information
o Help coordinate, plan and participate at the Volunteer Appreciation Party event (date TBD)
