The American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter provides relief to those affected by disasters and empowers individuals in our community to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. By helping people in the Bay Area learn how to take care of their families and neighbors, we strengthen our community and make it more resilient to disasters large and small.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Organizational Preparedness Volunteer Lead to assist in managing organizational preparedness volunteers and track their progress. The lead will also assist in developing aspects of the organizational preparedness programs, including Ready Rating.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage organizational preparedness volunteers.
Support staff and organizational preparedness volunteers.
Develop new organizational preparedness modules.

Qualifications:
Passion for the American Red Cross
Excellent communication and project management skills
Ability to complete projects in a timely manner
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet research
Knowledge of community development strategies (desired)
Experience in the fields of business continuity or emergency planning, or related fields (desired)

Physical Requirements:
Sit & stand for long periods
Utilize excellent stress reduction skills
Encourage an environment for the unit with the minimal level of stress under disaster conditions

Required Training:
In-person orientation with Community Preparedness Department staff

Location: 1 lead per county
Counties including San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Mateo, Solano

Time Commitment:
4-6 months. Flexible schedule. Weekdays and Evenings.
