Volunteer Opportunity - Alcoholics Anonymous

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

We are seeking Alcoholics Anonymous volunteer members for leading men's and women's meetings in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center (ADC).

From the AA organization: "There are over 38,664 A.A.s in confinement and over 1,559 prison groups throughout the United States and Canada. These meetings answer only a fraction of the need for more groups in correctional facilities all across the country. Many there reach for, but don’t find, the hand of A.A."

AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 18 and older. COMMITMENT: one hour monthly. DAY OF WEEK: Wednesday. TIME OF DAY: 7 - 8 p.m. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The process for becoming a volunteer at the ADC begins with a meeting or telephone interview with a Program Department staff member. If approved, an applicant must complete a criminal background history and fingerprinting. The steps in the process and contact information are found on the ADC's Volunteer page.
