Volunteer Opportunity - School Readiness Play Specialist

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

This opportunity allows volunteers to have a lasting impact on preparing children to be ready for kindergarten. Volunteers will be assigned to a preschool classroom. Volunteers receive guidance from the lead teacher in readiness strategies such as strive for 5 conversations, dialogic reading, and being a play partner. We request a minimum volunteer commitment of 1 hour per week. All volunteers must successful complete a background check before engaging with children.

AGE OF VOLUNTEER: 16 and older. COMMITMENT: minimum of 1 hour per week. DAY OF WEEK: flexible, Monday through Friday. TIME OF DAY: flexible, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: We strongly encourage SEEDS of Early Literacy training provided through Minnesota Center for Professional Development (www.mncpd.org) or Child Care Resource and Referral (www.c2r2.org).
