Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on March 13, 2013 |
Becoming a Hospice volunteer can be one the most rewarding experiences that you could ever have. Providing relief and support to families during such a difficult time displays great compassion. Volunteers have the opportunities to meet new people, gain life experiences, share gifts and skills, be part of a team, keep active, give back to the community, and feel a sense of accomplishment that comes from helping others. Volunteers create a schedule that is convenient for them. The office is located in Olive Branch, but we serve in 13 counties. Most likely, there will be an opportunity to volunteer with a family conveniently located near you. Volunteers can do administrative work in the office, run errands for caregivers, sit with patients to provide respite for caregivers, participate in holiday events and fundraisers, make friendly visits for conversation and companionship, do light cleaning or yard work, and provide transportation if needed. As a volunteer with A&E Hospice, you would be an integral part of the lives of our patients and especially their families. Thank you in advance and may God bless you. All volunteers must have a health screening performed by a physician or hospice employee nurse. All direct patient care volunteers must have documentation of a TB skin test on file initially and one TB skin test yearly thereafter. This opportunity is sponsored by: A&E Hospice, Inc.
