Volunteers in this area will assist recreational staff with aquatic activities by enforcing safety rules near and around the pool area, monitor the activities of youth, and administer proper life-saving procedures in the event of an emergency. Volunteers must fill out an application, which includes a background and child abuse registry check. We advise all who are interested to contact the Volunteer Coordinator for more information as soon as possible. Volunteers MUST present or provide a copy of a current, non-expired lifeguard certification with application. This opportunity is sponsored by: Oakley Youth Development Center

From Jackson take I20 West to Hwy 18. Follow the signs toward Raymond. Stay on 18. Once the 4 lane goes to 2 lane you will travel approximately 4 miles until you see a sign readig "Oakley Training School" on the right. Turn right onto Oakley Road. This road is very curvy and is travelled by farm implements so use caution. After approximately 3 miles you will come to the facility. Turn left (another sign points left) and travel along the outer fence. Turn into the facility at the next right. When you get to the guard gate stop and follow the directions and instructions of the guard. |
