Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on February 19, 2014

Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters™ teaches families at risk of hunger that healthy cooking can be delicious, enjoyable – and most important – affordable. Through hands-on classes taught by volunteer culinary and nutrition experts, course participants learn how to select nutritious and low-cost ingredients and prepare them in ways that provide the best nourishment possible to their families. In short, they learn how to make the most of what they’ve got.
Culinary Instructors
Teach adults, kids, and teens how to cook and shop for healthy, low-cost foods. Culinary instructors combine their own knowledge and experience with the lesson plans and recipes provided in the Cooking Matters curricula. Culinary volunteers are usually either culinary school graduates, are currently enrolled in a culinary training program, or have at least two years working as a cook or chef.

To get started volunteering, attend a new volunteer training. Look for upcoming dates/times on Our Calendar.
