Old Colony Correctional Center (OCCC) is a high-tech medium security facility and Old Colony Correctional Center Minimum Unit is a level 3 secured facility located on the Bridgewater Complex located on thirty acres of land at the Bridgewater Correctional Complex, along with Bridgewater State Hospital, Massachusetts Alcohol and Substance Abuse Center, and the Massachusetts Treatment Center. Since OCCC is not a committing institution, inmates are transferred there from other Massachusetts Department of Correction facilities. Presently there is a need for substance abuse volunteers. OCCC is seeking a volunteer to facilitate an Alcoholics Anonymous Program.

Volunteers will be required to attend an orientation program that will provide an understanding of the rules, responsibilities, and standard procedures of required conduct for all individuals who enter the correctional institution.

Volunteering in the prisons has been inspiring and has deepened my spiritual llife enormously.
 The Alternatives to Violence Project workshops provide experiential community building and skills in communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution. In facilitating these workshops for the last 15 years, I have profoundly experienced the power of individuals to overcome years of isolation, distrust and fear to build a community based on respect and caring. I now direct a small non-profit dedicated to bringing volunteers into the prisons and to being a voice for prisoners outside the wall.
