Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on May 27, 2012

Babes in the Woods needs hike leaders and assistants who can commit regularly on Tuesday mornings. No specific training or background is required - only a desire to help introduce young children and their families to the outdoors. From 10am-1130am on Tuesday mornings, assist veteran hike leader Terry Murray with managing the crowds of families who regularly come out for these wonderful events.

These Tuesday walks are free to the public, and are accessible to children in backpacks, jogging strollers, and on foot. Infants and toddlers, preschoolers, kids of all ages are welcome at all Babes in the Woods events! Babes in the Woods happens every Tuesday morning, weather permitting, as it has for years ... but we need YOUR help to keep this valuable program going. If you can commit even one Tuesday per month over the next 3-6 months please get involved!

We are looking for:
• A love for working with children of all ages (mostly infants and toddlers)
• Experience leading/sweeping hikes and following trail markers a plus
• A willingness to help with minor administrative tasks
• Availability Tuesday mornings from 10am-12pm with the potential to add more sessions
• Most trail heads are not T accessible so a car or reliable transportation is required
• No special certifications needed but must be open to a background check
