Volunteer Customer Service Representative -- Lobby Unmet Human Needs Youth

Cradles to Crayons is looking for adults willing to volunteer on a regular weekly or bi-weekly basis to assist visitors arriving at the Giving Factory and answer general phone calls. Champion Corps Customer Service Representatives will also assist with administrative tasks.
Expected Commitment: One day per week for a minimum of 6 months. Available shifts include-
• Tuesdays through Fridays and weekends, 9am-12pm and/or 12-3pm.

List of Job Functions:
• Welcome our donors, volunteers and visitors to Cradles to Crayons “Giving Factory” warehouse
• Provide excellent customer service
• Answer questions and/or direct visitors to appropriate contact
• Assist with volunteer computer registration
• Receive and document donated items in the lobby
• Ensure that the lobby remains tidy and orderly, including depositing trash
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including but not limited to filing, alphabetizing and data entry

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Positive and friendly attitude; you will be the face of Cradles to Crayons
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people
• Passion for the Cradles to Crayons mission
• Ability to take direction and work independently

 DIRECTIONS From 90W: ■Take exit 20 toward Brighton/Cambridge ■Keep left after the tolls to head towards Brighton ■After the toll, merge onto Cambridge Street and continue for about 1.5 miles, over Route 90. ■Take a right onto North Beacon Street (right after the Walgreens) ■Continue 0.5 miles. Our building will be on the right, on the corner of Life Street and North Beacon Street. From 90E: ■Take exit 18 on the left toward Brighton/Cambridge ■Keep left after the tolls to head towards Brighton ■After the toll, merge onto Cambridge Street and continue for about 1.5 miles, over Route 90. ■Take a right onto North Beacon Street (right after the Walgreens) ■Continue 0.5 miles. Our building will be on the right, on the corner of Life Street and North Beacon Street. Parking: Please park on North Beacon Street if you are visiting us between 8am and 4pm. It is not residential nor does it have a two hour limit. Alternate parking may be available behind our warehouse (turn off of Life Street after the purple door). Our warehouse is accessible by various public transportation routes: ■Take the green B Line to Warren and walk 15 minutes to North Beacon Street and Life Street ■The 64 bus route that runs between Kendall Square in Cambridge to Oak Square in Brighton drops you off right in front of the warehouse ■The 86 bus route that runs between Sullivan Station and Cleveland Circle drops you off one block away from the warehouse on North Beacon and Market
