Ethos is a nonprofit dedicated to helping the elderly and disabled remain at home for as long as possible while promoting dignity, independence, and well-being.
Ethos is looking for volunteers for our Ombudsman program!
Advocate for residents in long-term care facilities/residential care facilities, resolve complaints, monitor Federal & State laws regarding residents’ rights. Vehicle is essential.
Hours: 2 - 3 hours per week between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm; 1 year commitment.
Training and supervision: A 3 full-day training provided by the state

All volunteers complete an application and background check. Volunteers must have a car and valid driver's license. They are also required to attend a three-day training. We look for volunteers who are friendly and observant.

Directions:
| From 93 North & South Take Exit 18 (Mass. Ave./Roxbury). Take a right at the first set of lights (you will drive past Boston City Hospital/Boston Medical Center on your right). Continue on Melnea Cass Blvd. and take a left on Tremont St. (at Ruggles Center). Continue straight through 7 sets of lights (passing Roxbury Community College on your left at 4th light). After 7th light, take your first right onto Amory St. just past Muffler Mart-- a small, light blue building. Follow Amory St. approximately 1 mile until you come to the Green Street T station on your right. We are diagonally across the street from the T station-- brick building with a large parking lot. We are the second door down on the street level. From Brookline Take the Jamaica Way into Jamaica Plain. Take a left onto Pond Street then a right onto Centre Street. Take 4th left off Centre Street onto Seaverns Ave. (Purple Cactus). Follow Seaverns Ave. Until it ends. Green St. T station is on the left at corner. Take a right onto Amory St. We are diagonally across the street from the T station-- brick building with a large parking lot beside it. We are the second door down on the street level. By Public Transportation Take Orange Line to Green Street Station. Exit station, take a right onto Amory St. We are diagonally across the street from the T station-- brick building with a large parking lot beside it. We are the second door down on the street level.
