The Assistant Animal Control Officer provides assistance to the Animal Control Officer in enforcing the Town's animal control by-laws.

Individuals should be physically capable of dealing with dogs and other animals of various sizes and also be of a temperament sufficient to deal with their owners. As the Assistant ACO will probably be called only in an emergency, individuals should live in Halifax or live nearby and have their own transportation.
