Volunteer Opportunity - Job Skill Mentors / Facilitators
Volunteer Opportunity Details:
The Department of Correction offers its inmates the opportunity to take part in educational, treatment and reintegration programs. They include mental health, educational, employment, religious and substance abuse programs. Presently, the Department is seeking to secure volunteers to facilitate job skill related workshop modules on topics including resume writing, the application process, interview techniques, job retention skills, and interaction with co-workers Each module is a composed of 2 – two hour workshops. The sequence of workshops will conclude with a mock job fair. Curriculum materials and facilitation training will be provided. Volunteers are needed in both the English and Spanish speaking programs. Volunteer(s) will be required to attend an orientation program that will provide an understanding of the rules, responsibilities, and standard procedures of required conduct for all individuals who enter a correctional institution.
