Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters® empowers low-income families with the skills to stretch their food budgets so their children get healthy meals at home, as part of the No Kid Hungry® campaign to end childhood hunger in America.

We’re looking for volunteers in the Central MA area!
Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters is looking for your help! We are a non-profit that challenges families to take health into their own hands, empowering them to learn and grow with others in their community. Classes are once a week for six weeks and are team-taught by our volunteers with aid from a staff member. Lessons cover meal preparation, grocery shopping, food budgeting and nutrition. All volunteers not only have the power to educate, but increase self-esteem and strengthen social networks. Your time and contributions help create a long-term solution to hunger by giving families the confidence and ability to be more self-sufficient and improve their eating habits and food budgeting skills.
Volunteer Roles: Culinary Instructor, Nutrition Instructor, Class Assistant (no professional experience required)
