Boston Partners in Education enhances the academic achievement and nurtures the growth of Boston's public school students by providing them with focused, individualized in-school volunteer support.
Description:
Our initiatives provide approximately 730 academic mentors annually in nearly 70 of Boston's public schools in response to principal and teacher requests for assistance. Boston Partners in Education provides the curriculum development, volunteer training, school placement, and on-site support necessary to ensure that each initiative is targeted to achieve a positive impact on everyone involved. Each year nearly 5,000 students in all grades, K-12, gain core academic skills and personal self-confidence through our math and literacy initiatives.
History:
Founded in 1966, Boston Partners in Education partners directly with the Boston Public Schools administration to support student achievement and advancement in all grades, K-12. Formerly called School Volunteers for Boston, we are the oldest and largest nonprofit school volunteer organization in the city.
