Furnishing Options assists individuals and families with low income or people coping with disabilities in obtaining much-needed furniture and other household goods.

Description:
Furnishing Options provides individuals and families with low income and others such as persons recovering from mental illness the necessary items to enhance the place they call home. From furniture such as sofas, chairs and tables to other items such as kitchenware and small appliances, the organization helps provide the dignity that comes from having a fully furnished home. Based in Marlborough, Mass, Furnishing Options helps complete the dignity and respect that their parent organization Employment Option already provides people in need. By providing these items and other support, individuals and their families can live a more fulfilling life and be known as a productive member of their community.
Furnishing Options also serves as a social enterprise. The organization additionally offers a training site for youth and adults with disabilities to develop leadership and employment skills including customer service, retail merchandising and inventory control.

History:
Furnishing Options was formally launched in December, 2009. With the exception of the program director, we are completely run by volunteers. We also operate with help and support from individuals, faith-based and community organizations, foundations and businesses who donate time, goods to redistribute, funding and our start-up space.
