Chickies Creek Trail Clean-Up

RSS XML FeedBackground Active Apr 8, 2011 to Apr 24, 2011

Members of the Sierra Club's Lancaster Group invite the public to join them as they return to the Chickies Creek Day Use Area (in Chickies Rock County Park) for an Earth Day trail cleanup on Saturday, April 23, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Although Sierra Club volunteers took out tons of trash from this area last July, much remains there and members of the Group are hopeful that all of it will be removed with this effort.

Volunteers, and many are needed, should meet at the pavilion located on the Chickies Creek side of Route 441 and wear garden/work gloves (for those who don't have them, the Sierra Club will supply), boots as there is broken glass and rusted metal in some areas, and long pants. Also, please dress for the weather and bring along a water bottle and a snack.

This cleanup is not recommended for children under 13 years of age. For directions to Chickies Creek Day Use Area, visit www.co.lancaster.pa.us/parks. For more information, contact Jen Ericson at jericson@ezsolution.com.
