PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Active Nov 30, 2011 to Feb 29, 2012
United Way of Lancaster County's Success By Six™ (SB6) knows that quality early care and education can serve as an important strategy to improve Kindergarten readiness and future school performance. That is why one of our primary focus areas is to connect families to resources so that all children in Lancaster County can be successful.
To help us achieve this goal, we formed a Family Engagement team to learn more about the needs of local parents to help us build and strengthen these connections. Family Engagement team members can participate in a variety of ways throughout the school year by:
•Providing feedback on current practices in preparation for a child's entry into Kindergarten
• Attending SB6 quarterly meetings to share ideas with early childhood professionals on how to increase parent engagement and strengthen home/school connections
•Participating inUnited Way-led Community Conversations with parents of young children throughout the county to capture a comprehensive view on early learning
We invite you to get involved as a volunteer with our Family Engagement team. Contact Judi Anderson, Director of Education, at anderson@uwlanc.org, or at (717) 824-8124 for more information.
