About HandsOn Northeast Georgia

HandsOn Northeast Georgia, started in October 2006, is a program of Community Connection of Northeast Georgia that helps individuals, families and corporate and community groups find flexible volunteer opportunities at various organizations in Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties. HandsOn Northeast Georgia volunteers are at work every day of the year building the community and meeting critical needs in schools, parks, senior homes, food banks, pet shelters, low-income neighborhoods and more. HandsOn Northeast Georgia is an affiliate of HandsOn Network, an umbrella association of "Hands On" organizations around the world.

HandsOn Northeast Georgia guides the entire volunteer experience, transforming an initial interest in helping into a meaningful service experience. The keys to our success are the unique services we offer:

Project Choice. We offer many projects each month in partnership with community-based agencies in Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties. We then recruit and manage teams of volunteers to staff those projects.
Variety of Services. We offer on-going and one-time referral volunteer opportunities managed by our partner agencies in Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties.
Volunteer Flexibility. We offer accommodating scheduling, commitment flexibility and team-based programs, allowing volunteers to serve with colleagues, friends, family or to make new friends serving with like-minded volunteers.

Hands On Northeast Georgia creates, organizes, and leads meaningful service projects that positively impact the community.
