The St. Vincent de Paul Society will be a VITA (Voluntary Income Tax Assistance) official site beginning in January 2008 allowing lower income families to complete and file income taxes electronically as well as serve as a site for other benefit screening and applications such as Food Stamps. A variety of volunteers are needed, greeters, benefit screeners and tax preparers. A special training program by the IRS will be held for the tax preparer volunteers.
