Invitation To Serve As A YE-Atl Business Plan Advisor

RSS XML FeedBackground Active Mar 12, 2009 to Mar 24, 2009

Please consider donating a portion of your time to serve as a Youth Entrepreneurs(r)Atlanta Business Plan Advisor. For those of you not familiar with the role, Business Plan Advisors (BPA) meet with one or two students (sometimes three depending on volunteer turn-out) during a normal class period to provide advice on how students can improve their business ideas.

Generally, the sessions are from 60 - 75 minutes and take place in a classroom setting or another designated location within the school (see attached photo). In the past, for a class of 25 students we normally recruit 8 - 10 volunteers. Thus far, the experience has been rewarding for both advisors and students. The sessions are critically important since the written business plans represent a large percentage of their final grade. In addition, the sessions also help students prepare for their in-class business plan competitions.

If you are interested in serving as an advisor please review the opportunities below and let me know the location and date that works best. In turn, I will email you our Business Plan Advisor Guide and driving directions to the school. If you are so inclined you can volunteer for multiple sessions or as some have done in the past bring a colleague. If you decide to bring someone please let me know in advance.
