Internship Position: Program Intern
Internship Position: Program Intern Majors of Interest: Social Work, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Public Policy, Non-Profit Management Urban Development, Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Education, Physical Fitness, Nursing Agency Tennis In The 'Hood academic programs target low-income students, at risk students, and students in need of academic assistance. The organization also offers tennis instructions to children of all ages, abilities and interest levels. The Children of Promise Mentoring service is offered to children 4 to 18 residing In S. Fulton, Henry, Fayette, and Clayton Counties with at least one parent incarcerated. We are looking for motivated interns with a sincere interest in community building and willingness to work hard. Job Description: The Program Intern will be responsible for helping with program coordination, distribution of materials, event planning, office needs and general office and field projects. Responsibilities include: · Assist with Case Management for Children of Promise Mentoring Program, Afterschool Program, Summer Program, and Junior Development Program · Assist with development and distribution of publications and outreach materials · Assist with grant research, grant writing and materials coordination · Help with community building and education events · Update the community resource database · Assist with general office work. Skills Needed: · Computer skills · Ability to maintain clerical records · Ability to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision · Ability of communicate with others effectively · Ability to conduct research projects and prepare appropriate reports · Benefits: · Helping to connect communities with valuable resources and programs for disadvantage · Broad experience in a grassroots non-profit organization · Receiving Training in office management skills, program administration, publications development, grant research and writing and public relations outreach. · Working for an organization that benefits Metro Atlanta's diverse communities · Interns may be eligible for a stipend during the internship and possible employment with the TITH/Children of Promise Mentoring Program. Timeframe for Internship: Program Internship runs January-December with a 15-20 hour per week commitment. Fall and Winter internships require a three-month commitment of 10-14 hour per week; internship can take place year-round.
