The mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.
Description:
A child facing a life-threatening or critical illness needs many things. A loving family. Excellent medical services. An extended community of supportive, loyal friends, teachers, and people who care.
They also need times of hope and laughter and fun. Time to be who they are…children. They are children who want to think about something other than their illness, who want to imagine a future with better days and dreams that come true. That’s where the Make-A-Wish Foundation® comes in.
In fulfilling wishes, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Minnesota puts emphasis on the pure joy of a wish come true… it has been said that doctors provide the medicine and we provide the magic!

History:
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® was inspired by Chris, a seven year old boy battling leukemia, who all his life dreamed of becoming a police officer. Chris' dream came true in 1980 when his community gathered together to make him Arizona's first and only honorary state trooper.
To date, more than 200,000 wishes have been granted to children with life-threatening medical conditions in the United States and its territories.
There are Make-A-Wish Foundation chapters serving all areas of the United States, as well as international affiliates spanning five continents. Each chapter is responsible for granting wishes for eligible children within its designated geographic area and for raising the funds to fulfill those wishes.
