Volunteer of the Week Column

This weekly column and photo featuring a volunteer appears on the Towns page of The Burlington Free Press.  The column is designed to recognize the spirit of volunteerism in our community by highlighting the work of individual volunteers. Anyone can nominate a person or group whose volunteer accomplishments they value. This is not a "judged" competition--everyone who is nominated will appear in the column on a first-come, first-served basis.

To nominate a volunteer, complete a Volutneer of the Week form with contact information for you and the nominee.  You do not need to write a column, simply describe the work of the volunteer.  Please tell the volunteer that you are nominating him or her.  Our volunteer columnist, Kate Frisbie, will contact you and the nominee by phone to do a brief interview and write the column.  A good digital photo is appreciated, otherwise a hard-copy photo should be mailed to us.  We can arrange to take a photo if necessary.
