Brain Freezer 5K Board - Volunteer Organizer |
| Description: |
|
The Brain Freezer 5K is a brand-new event hosted by People Helping People Global. It will be run in downtown Burlington on July 14, 2012. It's an alternative race, which involves eating a pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream half-way through the 5K. PHPG is looking for individuals to serve on the event planning board. There are opportunities for individuals with various skill sets including, but not limited to: volunteer organization, vendor organization, public relations, race direction, race area set-up, sponsorship/donation acquisition, shirts/flyers/participant packet development, and designing. The Volunteer Organizer should have prior experience managing individuals, specifically volunteers. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are very organized and will make it their #1 priority to motivate volunteers and assure that everyone (volunteers and participants) are having a great time. Board members should be prepared to meet at least once a month from mid-March until the event in July. Additionally, there needs to be constant communication among the members of the board, and all members will report to the Board Chair as things progress. Thank you so much for your interest in helping us launch the world's first ever 5K that requires participants to eat an entire pint of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream!
