The mission of the Brain Injury Association of Vermont (BIAVT) is to help create a better future for Vermonters with brain injury and their families through brain injury prevention, education, advocacy and family support. We are the only organization in Vermont dedicated to serving people and advocating for those who have suffered serious neurological trauma.

Description:
BIAVT works to enhance the dignity, independence and quality of life of individuals and families affected by brain injury in Vermont. BIAVT offers service navigation, employment support and individual advocacy to Vermonters, including military veterans, who have survived concussions, and traumatic or acquired brain injury, with lasting functional impairment. We offer support groups, training, information & referral and practical tools and coping strategies to survivors, family members, caregivers, medical and mental health providers, community agency staffs, and others involved in treating & supporting individuals with brain injury in Vermont.
Our voluntary services complement & extend the services that BI survivors receive from health and mental health providers, the informal support provided by family caregivers, and benefits & services from the increasingly stressed network of community-based agencies. BIAVT's direct services are provided at no charge to family members & survivors. All our services are completely confidential & are client-centered.
