Welcome to United Way of
Serving volunteers in Chittenden County, Vermont
Who We Serve
United Way of Chittenden County Volunteer Connection works with anyone who wants to volunteer and with any nonprofit organization or public agency in Chittenden County. Organizations must register with us online and sign a paper Agency Agreement which outlines specific requirements of participation. We are able to recruit for a wide variety of volunteer opportunities; however, we cannot recruit for positions that displace or replace paid employees, impair existing contracts for service work or includes engaging in religious activities, partisan politics, or union activity.
United Way of Chittenden County Volunteer Connection has three specific programs that work together to provide the best of volunteer recruitment, referral and management services to our community. We work with all organizations registered with us and refer adults, youth, and families, as well as groups of employees, students, clubs and others to meaningful volunteer opportunities.
RSVP works with selected agencies and provides adults 55 and over with personalized, one-to-one service to find rewarding and satisfying volunteer opportunities to match their unique skills, talents and interests.
The Foster Grandparent Program matches adults 55 and over in Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle and WashingtonCounties with meaningful volunteer opportunities with children at schools, daycares and other sites.
Program staff will direct requests for volunteers and other volunteer management assistance to the most appropriate program to meet the nonprofit organization's needs.
