About United Way of Chittenden County

Welcome to United Way of Chittenden County
Volunteer Connection

Serving volunteers in Chittenden County, Vermont

United Way of Chittenden County's Volunteer Connection connects volunteers with nonprofit organizations, schools or public agencies in Chittenden County.  Organizations register with us online and agree to the terms and conditions.  We refer adults, youth, and families, as well as groups of employees, students, clubs and others to meaningful volunteer opportunities though our online database and select opportunities from the database for volunteer recruitment and outreach activities.

In addition to connecting volunteers and nonprofits, we provide training on volunteer management for nonprofit organizations.

United Way also sponsors two federal programs for volunteer age 55+:  RSVP provides adults 55 and over with personalized, one-to-one service to find rewarding and satisfying volunteer opportunities to match their unique skills, talents and interests.  The Foster Grandparent Program matches adults 55 and over in Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle Counties with meaningful volunteer opportunities with children at schools, child care centers and Head Start classrooms.

Note: We cannot recruit for positions that displace or replace paid employees, impair existing contracts for service work or includes engaging in religious activities, partisan politics, or union activity.
