Chicago Works For You Service Fair
In the fall of 2005, the City and her partners established an assistance center for victims of Hurricane Katrina who evacuated to Chicago. Thousands of Gulf Coast families passed through the center and were able to resolve multiple pressing needs on the spot. The unqualified success of this operation inspired the concept of the Chicago Works For You Service Fair.
The City of Chicago currently offers our residents a wealth of resources and in 2006, Mayor Daley will bring the same level of coordinated, easy-access service to Chicago’s own families. The Chicago Works For You Service Fair will serve low-income and working poor families throughout Chicago. The three-day event will feature a range of on-site services designed to bolster economic self-sufficiency and enhance quality of life. A host of City and private agencies will provide everything from on-site health screenings and tax assistance to home ownership opportunities and customized resumes.
The fair will be held in Hamilton Park, 513 West 72nd Street, Chicago, on February 23 through 25.
