Gardeners Need for Historic Site

Volunteer Opportunity Details:
The Gaylord Building, a historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, seeks volunteer gardeners to care for the historic site's landscaping, which was designed by nationally renowned landscape architect Tony Tyznik. Activities include: planting and weeding flowerbeds, pruning shrubs, raking leaves, and clearing trash and debris from the landscaping. Volunteer gardeners must be able to: lift 30 lbs.; kneel or sit on the ground for long periods of time; bend over or stretch to reach things; and possess the dexterity and strength to use all types of gardening tools. Individuals should also have the willingness and capacity to learn about the various flowers, grasses, shrubs and trees on the property.
