Volunteers needed for Classes, Outings, etc.

We need volunteers to help out with our classes.
Cooking Class: We have a cooking class that teaches our individuals to do basic cooking tasks, measuring, baking, using recipes, etc.
Computer Class: We have several Computer Classes, we could use help in teaching our individuals how to use a computer, use the internet, type a letter, send an e-mail, Etc.
Sewing Class: We have a sewing class that our individuals love. We need volunteers to help our individuals to learn how to sew, cut out patterns, create a quilt, etc.
Craft Classes: We are always looking for that crafty, artsy person to teach our individuals how to do any kind of craft, pottery, painting. What ever your talent is, we can use in this area.
Community Outings: We are always in need of volunteers to help out with Community Outings. We have a bowling team that goes to Northern Lights Recreation in Harbor Springs every Tuesday from Fall until Spring, helping individuals bowl, and help with lunch. We go on shopping trips, go to fairs, go on overnight trips, go to Traverse City for a Beachbums game, Go for nature walks. Any Community Outing that you can assist us with would be very helpful to us.
Workshop 1 and 2: Bergmann Center provides paid work for our individuals. We can always use help with providing training for a new job, sitting with a person and assisting them, Cutting glass for lovelites and gazing balls, and also helping us with the local craft sales where we sell our products.
There is training that is provided for each volunteer. We will also need to have a T.B. Test (we will pay for) and we will also have to do a criminal back ground check. The first thing that will need to be done is to fill out a Volunteer Application which will provide us the information that is needed to find out what your interest are, what your talents are and when you can volunteer.
