Weekly Volunteer Opportunity Spotlight Dec. 7

RSS XML FeedBackground Active Dec 3, 2009 to Dec 11, 2009

Caring and Sharing Companion

A new face can be a breath of fresh air in a day program setting. A friendly smile can be a welcome change from the day-to-day routine. Taking the time to sit and talk and share with someone who is confused and lonely can make all the difference in the day for both the senior and the volunteer.

Initial orientation and training is provided. On-going supervision and coaching in ways to relate to the day care clients is always available at the day care setting. The volunteer has the opportunity to become part of the family of clients, staff and volunteers providing care and stimulation for the time they are available to volunteer. This opportunity is available at the Adult Day Center 116 Main Street, East Jordan, MI.
