Often we have the least of what we most need. Help address our community's most basic needs: clothing, food, housing, etc.
You can help us create smiles by sustaining our efforts to increase access to dental care and decrease dental disease (the most common chronic disease). We're busy creating and implementing new oral health programs and services and linking people to dental care. Our Hyannis, Falmouth, and Cataumet shelters seek volunteers to help with childcare on weekday mornings (preferred), or early afternoons. Volunteers can pick one or more of these timeslots, but should be able to commit to a regular, weekly schedule (for example, every Wednesday morning). more
Drivers are needed both weekdays and on weekends to transport shelter residents in Bourne for food shopping, medical appointments, and other essential errands. Volunteers will drive our agency van (an automatic seating 7 persons). more
We need volunteers to help collate, fold, tab and label our monthly newsletter, HACbeat. Newsletter prep is generally done on the first Thursday or Friday of the month from 9:00-1:00 at our main office in Hyannis. You can come for the whole time, or any portion of it that suits your schedule. Please call to sign up and confirm work dates, as these sometimes vary from month to month. more
The Senior Service Corps of Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands is assisting the Salvation Army on Cape Cod with their need for secretarial volunteers who can give any amount of time during the week. more
Habitat for Humanity is known for its volunteer construction crews. Deliver Meals on Wheels to elders in your town. Generally deliver meals one morning per week to 10 -15 individuals on a set route. Opportunity to provide an elder with a nutritious meal and conduct a well-being check. more
This is the second year of the Cape Cod Medical Reserve Corps garden on the grounds of the Barnstable County Complex on Rte. 6A in Barnstable Village. We are looking for volunteers to assist us in planning, planting, maintaining, and harvesting vegetables.
