Community Builders would like to recognize the North Central Charter Essential School for helping their community during the 2010 Day of Caring. Approximately 400 students engaged in various community service projects at their school. These projects were designed to help all sorts of areas in our community.
The students gathered and made nearly 250 items to donate to new mothers at the Battered Women's Shelter. They also made over 200 decorative items for local Thanksgiving dinners that serve seniors.
Too, the students helped make the holidays a little better for over 50 families by collecting items for food baskets and creating Christmas stockings.
In addition to our local community, students gave back to those who are serving or have served our country. They created over 100 handmade thank you cards to go to troops overseas. Meanwhile, other students did data entry documenting Civil War veterans.
It was truly a wonderful day for all involved. Students at the North Central Charter Essential School proved that by working together, people can make a major impact in our community!
