United Way Community Builders seeks to hire an AmeriCorps VISTA member for our Volunteer Coordinator's position.
The Volunteer Coordinator will increase our organizational capacity to provide greater awareness of volunteer opportunities throughout the region by building capacity for effective volunteering, connecting volunteers with opportunities to serve and promoting volunteerism.
Activities include: strengthening volunteer recruitment initiatives by assisting with event coordination, providing website maintenance, training and support, preparing newsletters, blog and social media entries and coordinating volunteer management groups . The Volunteer Coordinator position is ideal for someone interested in pursuing a career in community development, public administration, and non-profit management.
· Start Date: 8/28/2012
· Pre-Service Orientation: 8/27/2012 – 8/30/2012
· Program Benefits: Childcare assistance if eligible, Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend, Health Coverage, Living Allowance, Relocation Allowance, Training and mileage reimbursement.
· Skills: Communications, Community Organization, Fund raising/Grant Writing, Recruitment, Writing/Editing, Microsoft Office, knowledge of Social Media and Blogging Tools and Computer IT skills, Researching Skills
· Education Level: College Graduate
· Work Schedule: Full Time, Weekdays. Evenings and Weekends as Needed.
