Community Builders is pleased to launch a friendly competition to encourage the regions nonprofit, community, faith based organizations, local businesses and individuals to submit meaningful, innovative volunteer projects that will engage and generate new volunteers while creating positive social impacts on the region.

 

How Does This Competition Work?

March 23rd: Project Submission Deadline

All "Star Project" Applications will be submitted by 5:00 pm on March 23rd. No Exceptions.

April 15th - 21st: The Competition Begins!

Organizations will implement their "Star Projects" during National Volunteer Week.

April 25th - 30th: Online Voting

Volunteer projects will be posted on the Community Builders website by April 25th. Volunteers can vote for their favorite three "Star Projects" through Monday, the 30th.

May 2nd: Winners Notified

Winning organizations be notified and receive their prize money!

 

Competition Criteria

Who is eligible to compete?

Any nonprofit agency, community or faith based organization, local business, or individual that will implement their volunteer projects in North Central Massachusetts during National Volunteer Week (April 15-21, 2012).

Star Projects Criteria:

1. Volunteer projects must generate new volunteers.

2. Volunteer projects must show innovation.

3. Volunteer projects must make a positive impact on the community.

 

General Rules:

1. "Star Project" Applications must be submitted to Community Builders no later than March 23rd at 5:00pm.

2. Volunteer projects must take place during National Volunteer Week (April 15-21, 2012).

3. Any volunteer project applications that do not meet the eligibility and competition criteria will be eliminated from the competition.

4. United Way of North Central Massachusetts staff and members of the Board of Directors are ineligible and are prohibited from submitting a "Star Projects" Application. They may however vote for their favorite three "Star Projects" once the competition is open for public vote.

5. In the event of a tie in votes, Community Builders will assemble a panel to make the final determination. UnitilBemis Associates, Inc.
