Summary: Serves as a member of the volunteer staff providing 24-hour care to Mother Teresa House guests. Requirements:
- Commitment to working as a member of the team providing loving care.
- Completion of orientation and participation in on-going training including quarterly meetings.
- Able to embrace the mission and service attitudes of the ministry.
- Flexible to serve days, nights and weekends as needed.
Duties: - Care-giving activities may include but are not limited to;
a. providing companionship b. listening to guest c. assist with walking or moving guest d. personal hygiene care e. give/oversee taking of medicine f. assist with other tasks similar to what a family caregiver would do g. Notify care coordinator of any care concerns h. Communicate with co-workers verbally and in written form using the care notebook.
- In addition to care-giving duties;
All volunteer staff members perform a variety of tasks which assist in the daily running of Mother Teresa House. These include; a. meal preparation b. household upkeep c. projects d. answering the phone e. office/administrative tasks Responsibility:
- Commitment to agreed length of service
- Full-time service (40-50 hours per week)
A live-in caregiver is required to attend a 2-hour Orientation Session, serve a training shift, and complete a 4-5 hour Skills Training Workshop. This opportunity is sponsored by: Mother Teresa House
