Essential Functions: • Provide intentional and meaningful literacy instruction during all parts of the day to improve the literacy skills of children in kindergarten through third grade specifically focusing on reading fluency. • Use results of the assessment data to reflect on and inform classroom teacher and team leader of student’s growth • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to facilitate small group literacy instruction • Enhance the classroom literacy environment • Participate in monthly school based in-service sessions coordinated by the Team Leader • Attend pre-service literacy and program training
Qualifications: • Strong interest in education, specifically helping children develop literacy skills • Dedication to community service • Speak, read, and write English fluently • Responsible, organized, flexible, motivated • Excellent oral and written communication skills • • Must be at least 55-years-old • High school diploma or GED • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident alien • Must submit to and successful pass a National Sex Offender Public Registry check, FBI, and state criminal background check Requirements: • Complete a 30 hour pre-service training • Attends in-service trainings monthly and/or as assigned • Completes a minimum of 450 hours during the school year
