Baltimore Orchard Project
Last updated on February 8, 2015

The Baltimore Orchard Project works to grow, glean and give away urban fruit to fight local hunger, improve our urban landscapes and strengthen the resilience of our community.

The BOP harvests mature fruit trees throughout the area and distributes their to those in need and throughout our city's food deserts. We also work to encourage the planting and care of fruit trees to create a vast, virtual orchard throughout our neighborhoods that will shade, feed and create enchanted local green spaces for our children and grandchildren.

We work with schools, congregations, neighborhood organizations and individuals who are eager to transform the ways we imagine our food system, our land, our neighborhoods and the ways we live together in community and nature.

We were founded in the fall of 2011. We give our gleanings to local food and hunger organizations, and we plant at schools, congregations and private homes.
