Seeking Volunteers with Warm Hearts, Strong Backs -- and Maybe A Truck

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on April 22, 2014

There are many people in our towns who must use the floor when they sleep or eat their meals because they lack a bed or chair; most of them are children. Furnishing Options of Marlborough needs a few volunteers to move good-quality furniture from homes where it is no longer required so that it can bring dignity and comfort to people in need.

A transport crew consists of two volunteers: a driver, who provides a pickup truck or a van, and an assistant. Volunteers with trucks are especially hard to find, but both are needed. Will you consider joining our team?

Transportation Crew Leader and Assistants are needed to work 2-3 hour shifts on a weekday afternoon or Saturday morning. Sign up to be on a regular shift or help occasionally, i.e. for furniture drives and shift backup.

Transportation Crew Leaders need access to a pickup (or larger) truck or van. Should be comfortable interacting with donors of goods from the general public and our store crew, and be able to work collaboratively with/direct assistants. Both Crew Leaders and Assistants must be able to lift 70 lbs.
