Cultural Tourism DC is seeking volunteers for Passport DC!

Cultural Tourism DC and the European Union Embassies in DC present Passport DC, a two-week event showcasing Washington’s international culture. Taking place May 3 - 17, 2008, the celebration will open doors to cultural programming, performances, and exhibits at the city’s embassies and international cultural centers. Embassies and cultural centers will open their doors to the public for unique programs and cultural experiences. For the full schedule please visit: www.PassportDC.org.

Volunteer Responsibilities: reporting to assigned embassy, crowd control, distributing materials, registering visitors, handling food and/or beverage, being attentive and friendly to visitors to the assigned embassy. Additionally, Cultural Tourism DC will need help with signage, directions and assisting visitors to shuttle buses.

Volunteers will be provided with a T-shirt and a one day metro pass. There will be a mandatory orientation and debriefing.

There will be a mandatory orientation during the week of May 11 with Cultural Tourism DC. Times and location will be sent once volunteers have signed up. Additionally, the embassy may require identification for screening. There are not limitations on who may volunteer, but the general nature of the event will be working with people and diplomatic staff. Volunteers should be friendly, willing to answer questions and have a positive attitude about working with internationally diverse populations.
