HIAS Young Leaders are graduate students and young professionals in their 20's & 30's who serve, educate, advocate, and fundraise in support of HIAS' vital mission of rescue, reunion and resettlement of Jewish and other migrants. HIAS, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, is the Jewish community’s immigration arm. HIAS has been working on immigration and refugee issues since 1881 and has helped more than 4.5 million individuals find freedom from religious persecution. The HIAS Young Leaders have opportunities for leadership within the community service committee, the events planning committee, and/or the advocacy & education committee. Membership is free and there are chapters of HIAS Young Leaders in New York City, Los Angeles, and in Washington, DC. Volunteers should be between 21 and 39 years old.
